Since the beginning of the year, the district police authorities in NRW have been working with the #LEBEN strategy for more safety on the roads. This term sums up the efforts of the police to reduce serious road accidents. The focus is on vulnerable road users (pedestrians - especially children - and cyclists and motorcyclists). This is where forces should be concentrated. Adhering to the rules of the road is not an end in itself, but serves to ensure that we all reach our destination alive and well. That is why the "Vision Zero" - 0 road deaths - is the main goal of all police measures.
The hashtag #LEBEN is intended to illustrate this. A hashtag is a type of keyword or search term that is used on the internet to make certain topics recognizable and findable. It consists of the actual topic as a word preceded by a hash. In social networks, it also serves as a jump marker to find other posts on the topic.
The hashtag LEBEN is not only used in the virtual world, but also in the real world: a large #LEBEN letter set is currently being passed from authority to authority. The aim is to publicize and promote the strategy. Over the next two weeks, the MK police will be posting the letters at various danger spots or problem areas - to make road users aware of what the police are all about.
Join in!
You can make a small contribution to making the goal and hashtag known: A small competition accompanies our campaign. If you spot the lettering somewhere in your city, take a photo of the letters and post it on Facebook or Instagram by June 1 at the latest. Please add the hashtags #LEBEN and #PolizeiMK. We will be giving away 5 police mugs and 5 police notebooks among all participants. (cris)
