The police officers at the three police stations work around the clock in shifts. Their duties include everything that the public expects from the police:
They are on duty to take reports and provide assistance to people seeking help. With their patrol activities, they ensure the safety of the population in the Olpe district and carry out numerous operations on a daily basis to avert danger as well as to prosecute misdemeanors and criminal offences. This includes traffic monitoring and the recording of traffic accidents, burglaries, thefts, disputes and fights through to dealing with serious crimes.
In the so-called "first attack", the officers of the security service perform a wide range of operational tasks. Recording the facts of the case, searching rooms or people and securing evidence and traces are part of the patrol service's "daily bread". A large number of police operations must be documented in writing, as public prosecutors, courts and other institutions regularly deal with the results of police work. The preparation of criminal charges, protocols and reports takes up a considerable amount of duty time.
Through their constant presence and by supporting priority operations, police officers at police stations play a major role in preventing crime and traffic accidents.
