Wegberg-Wildenrath - Two previously unknown women rang the doorbell of a senior citizen on July 29 (Tuesday) between 3.30 p.m. and 4 p.m. in Heinsberger Straße. Under the pretext of needing to check the water pipes, they entered the elderly woman's home. There, among other things, they operated water taps to check whether there was allegedly gas in the water pipes.
In the evening, the resident told her daughter about the incident. She became suspicious. When she subsequently checked her valuables, the senior citizen discovered that her jewelry was missing.
The two women spoke German with an unfamiliar accent and had a light complexion. The older of them was around 30 to 35 years old, about 160 to 165 centimetres tall and had short dark blonde hair. She was stocky and wearing a light-colored T-shirt.
Her accomplice was about 20 years old and 165 to 170 centimetres tall. She had dark long hair and was dressed in dark clothing.
The police are now looking for witnesses who made observations on Heinsberger Straße during the time of the crime in question that could be connected to the facts of the case.
