The traffic accident prevention tam pursues the following objectives, taking into account the local accident situation:
- Reduction of traffic accidents and mitigation of the consequences
- Raising awareness of the dangers of road traffic
- Promotion of standard-compliant traffic behavior
- Participation in the elimination of danger spots
- Strengthening the public's sense of safety
According to the principle of lifelong learning, prevention work is aimed at all ages and target groups from kindergarten to senior citizens, but primarily at particularly vulnerable road users
The aim of road accident victim protection is to alleviate the particular stressful situation following a serious road accident and to refer individuals to specialist, therapeutic and/or medical advice.
There are currently seven road safety advisors, two of whom are specially trained in victim protection, working throughout Bielefeld.
